I am a post graduate retired from Central Excise & Service tax Department on 31-12- 2011 as Superintendent after being in service for more than twenty years. I am working as a consultant as a vocation while on retirement.

I am a retired person, calculated and paid difference tax of Rs.9050/- during june 2016 while e-filing my tax return on 29.06.2016 for year 2016-2017 and furnished the details of tax paid in my return. But, now I have received a notice under Sec. 143(1) to pay tax of Rs.9050.00. How to rectify this?

    But the post personal say it is not acceptable under 80 C.
